Memories
Legacies – Milestones – Legends
Our Memories are being Lost.
Terabytes of images, unedited, sitting on your phone, desktop, hard drives and clouds.
They do not tell a story. They do not preserve a history. Faint moments, without context, background, details.
Do Not Let Your Life Stories Fade Away
The Family Legacy, so a great grandchild can understand where they came from.
The Milestone moments, to mark a life well loved as told by loved ones and friends, to celebrate who you have become.
The Buisness Legend, that has succeeded for 50 years. How did it all begin? How did it survive all the challenges?
I create books that capture lives. Your story matters. It deserves to be recorded, to be kept, read, gifted, and passed on, generation to generation.
Family Legacies
Preserve the story of where you came from.
Every family story exists in fragments.
The story a grandfather always told. The journey that brought your family to Canada. Old photographs with names written on the back. Countries left behind, your traditions and memories that are known by only one generation.
A Family Legacy Book brings those pieces together before they disappear.
A professionally researched and written multi-generational family history combining personal storytelling with photographs, documents and historical context.
The result is more than a family tree and more than just a photo book. It’s a true chronicle of your family. One that will tell the story to generations to come.
Projects may include:
- Interviews across several generations
- Family and historical research
- Development of a multi-generational narrative
- Family photographs, letters and archival documents
- Timelines and significant family events
- Photo captions and identification
- Writing, editing and revisions
Family Story
A beautifully designed book centred on one branch or generation of a family, bringing together personal stories, photographs, letters and treasured family material.
Generational Legacy
A more extensive family history spanning multiple generations, developed through interviews, research, photographs, documents and historical context.
The Family Chronicle
A comprehensive multi-generational book for families who want to preserve a substantial history — combining extensive interviews and research with a richly illustrated narrative.
The Tribute
A highly visual celebration of a life, created from photographs, letters, memories and stories contributed by family and friends. Ideal for a significant birthday, anniversary or retirement.
The Life Story
A more narrative-driven book combining personal interviews, photographs and memories to tell the story of a life — the people, places and experiences that shaped it.
The Biography
Typically 40,000–50,000 words, full-length account of a life, developed through extensive interviews and research and written as an engaging nonfiction narrative, accompanied by photographs and personal material.
Milestones
Celebrate a life well lived.
A Milestone book captures the stories of you through written notes and photographs from all your family and friends. Telling the tales behind the photographs — the memories, adventures and moments that made a life what it is.
Ideal for a 50th, 60th, 75th or 80th birthday, anniversary, retirement or other major life celebration.
A personal biography is for those who want to tell the fuller story. Breaking down the life’s stages, finding your story arc, and working together to write your full biography.
Giving your lessons learned and accumulative wisdom by sharing your struggles and how you overcame can inspire others who may be facing similiar life challenges.
Depending on the project, your book may include:
- Interviews with the subject, family and friends
- Original written narrative
- Letters, memories and personal stories
- Family photographs and memorabilia
- Editing and revisions
- Organization of material for the finished book
Business Legends
Every business started with an idea.
Someone took a risk, opened a door, made the first sale, hired the first employee or built something no one else quite believed in yet.
Years later, those beginnings can be surprisingly easy to lose.
A Legends Book captures the people, decisions, setbacks, breakthroughs and defining moments behind a company or organization — told through the voices of the people who built it.
Projects may include:
- Founder and executive interviews
- Interviews with employees, customers and family members
- Company and industry research
- Archival documents and photography
- Development of the company’s narrative
- Writing and editing
- Photo and caption integration
- Review with key stakeholders
The Founder Story
The story of the person behind the business — the idea, risks, setbacks and decisions that turned an ambition into a company.
The Business Story
A richly illustrated history of a business, told through its founders, employees, photographs, archives, milestones and defining moments.
The Corporate Chronicle
A comprehensive company history developed through extensive interviews, archival research and historical context — designed for significant anniversaries, established organizations and multi-generational businesses.
From Conversation to Hardcover
We start with conversations. I gather the stories, conduct the interviews, review photographs and documents, research the history and find the narrative that holds everything together.
Then I write the book.
1. Discover
We talk about what you want the book to preserve.
2. Gather
I conduct interviews and work through photographs, letters, documents and other source material.
3. Write
I develop the structure and write the story as a cohesive, engaging book.
4. Refine
You review the manuscript and we work through the agreed revision process.
5. Create
Your visual materials are incorporated into the design of the finished book.
6. Preserve
Your story becomes a professionally produced book that can be shared with the people who matter.
Book Design & Printing
Professional book design can include interior layout, photograph placement, typography, cover design and preparation of print-ready files.
Printing can range from a small number of beautifully bound keepsake copies for a family to larger print runs for businesses and organizations.
Every Story Is Different
The final cost depends on the length and complexity of the book, number of interviews, research required, quantity and condition of photographs and archival material, and the level of production involved.
After an initial conversation, I provide a detailed project proposal outlining the scope, schedule, deliverables and fixed project fee.
